The 2021 Department of Georgia American Legion College as approved by the Department Commander will use the following format this year. The college is designed to enhance knowledge and appreciation of The American Legion, and teaches the core values and contributions of the organization.
Each District will be allowed to select two (2) individuals to attend the college. District Commanders should select the persons that meets the following qualifications.
(1) Has completed the On-line American Legion Basic Training Course and has obtained a certificate of completion.
(2) Has leadership abilities, a go-getter and has the desire to move up in the District and/or Department.
(3) Must have a 2022 Membership card.
Names of those selected by the District should be submitted to the College Dean no later than Friday, August 6, 2021. When submitting, please include the size of the shirts of the individuals selected.
, The college this year will be held on Friday and Saturday, September 17th and 18th, 2021at Post 594 in Warner Robbins, Ga. Hotels rooms for the participants will be paid for by the District or Department. The Hotel selected in Warner Robbins will be announced when finalized. Reservations will be made in the name of the participants selected.
Check in at the hotel for the college will be Friday, September 17, 2021 by 3:00 pm. The first session of the college will begin at approximately 5:00 pm on this date and, conclude with a meet and greet.
The college will resume on Saturday, September 18, 2021 with all day group and joint sessions. Participants should be prepared to check out on this date prior to the start of the college sessions. It is anticipated that the college will conclude at approximately 4:00 pm.
College subjects will include Train the Trainer, The American Legion, Mylegion.org and others. Dress for the college is Legion Casual.
There will be an awards ceremony after the college.
