American Legion Baseball 2025

American legion baseball is celebrating its 100th birthday in 2025 the program is run as a not for profit program. Legion baseball has a goal of improving our young people within a positive and competitive environment while preparing our players for high school and collegiate level of play.
Manager of the team should be a member of the American Legion Family (legionnaire, SAL Auxiliary) Head Coach and Assistances can be non-members. Legion allows non legion teams known as independent as long as they follow Legion Baseball rules.
It’s important that managers and coaches familiarize themselves with the playing rules in the senior legion baseball rule book. pages 2,3,5,16 and especially pages 24 and 38.
There are two age groups in legion Baseball senior u19 for players 16 to 19 for this age group players must have been born in 2006 or later this is division Georgia has. the Jr legion program is for players 15 to 17 players can play up but not down.
All managers and coaches and players 18 or older must have background checks and abuse training for adults. Cost for background checks is $17 the adult abuse training is free.
Teams are required to purchase insurance from K & K insurance the legion approved company at the time of registration. Cost for this and other registration fee’s is around $500.00.
Online registration for 2025 begins on January 1st. March 31st for establishment of players legal residence and school enrollment numbers for 10th,11th and 12 grades not to exceed 7500 counting both males and females for combined enrollment numbers of the high schools.
The state tournament will be held in late July, regionals in Early August and world series Mid-August. There are other important dates but won’t be known till the new rule books will be out around January 20,2025.
Each team can have no more than 18 players and must have at least 12 for regionals and world series. Players and coaches must wear team uniforms with the legion baseball patch on left sleeve. Managers and coaches may wear coaches jackets but must have baseball patches on left sleeve. No shorts are allowed.
Uniforms must be for legion sponsors only and can’t represent another organized baseball team.
